Intense fruit, supple tannins. The wine that listens to the terroir.

« Inviting nuances of blackcurrant, licorice and cocoa. The wine stands out for its freshness and harmony. It has clearly been decided to listen to the terroir. »

The Spirit of the Wine

« The reflection of the terroir »

The Château Haut La Grenière plots overlook the « Champs de Verdus » plateau, the highest point of La Grenière locality. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon take root in sandy-clay soil and benefit from a warm and windy summer climate. The Haut La Grenière terroir aids in the genesis of grapes with intense fruit and relatively supple tannins. Aging in concrete vats reveals the purity of the fruit and the generosity of this wine.
Château Haut La Grenière embodies the estate's philosophy: revealing the natural expression of the fruit without artifice. By favoring aging in concrete vats rather than wood, we let the terroir speak in all its purity.
